We are looking forward to re-opening for the 2008 Summer Season on Memorial Day Weekend ~ 2008.
Wilma Bruining graduated from Johnson & Wales Culinary School in 1978. Since graduation, she has worked as a chef in various locations, including California, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, learning about a wide variety of foods. Locally, she has worked as the head chef at The Stone House Club in Little Compton for four years, the Past & Presents Tea Room in Tiverton for two years, and Blue Rhonda's in Scituate, Mass for three years. She moved out of the restaurant world in 1998 to start Wilhelmina's Catering. In the fall of 2002, after operating The Country Stand in Little Compton since 1999, she also purchased The Net Result fish market in Little Compton. Wilma's love of cooking has remained a passion her entire life.
She is a creative chef with an artistic flair for presentation.
Our catering activities began in 1998 and have grown rapidly each year. Our primary service area includes Little Compton, Tiverton, Portsmouth, Bristol, Westport and Fall River. We have provided catering for all types of events, including weddings, cocktail parties, dinner parties, luncheons, brunches, anniversary and birthday parties, holiday parties, corporate functions and memorial services. The scope of these events has ranged from small pickups or deliveries to large full-service weddings for 300 with wait staff and on-site cooking.
By the end of 2001, we had outgrown the kitchen we had rented for several years. We designed and built a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and moved in July 2002.
Since 1998, Wilhelmina's Catering has supplied all those delicious baked goods (including pies!) and deli items to The Country Stand in Little Compton. Beginning in 2003, Wilhelmina's prepares many seafood items for The Net Result fish market, also in Little Compton.
Our
Staff
Our staff is hand selected and
fully trained in every aspect of serving. for catered functions.We are
fortunate to have an experienced and very professional group of waiters and
waitresses to schedule into your event. Traditional “black and white”
attire ensures the proper “look” for your event. Wilhelmina’s
includes the staff in pre-event internal planning/briefing to ensure a smooth
production for you.
